KOFTA LAJAWAB RECIPE
Ingredients: 125 gm cheese mashed 50 gm cornflour 1/2 tsp pepper powder oil for frying gravy 200 gm tomato (tamatar) pureed 3/4 tsp salt (namak) 250 gm onion (pyaj) grated 1/2 tsp chilli powder 200 gm oil (tel) 3 cm piece ginger (adrak) ground 1/2 tsp garam masala
How to make kofta lajawab: - Mix mashed cheese with cornflour and pepper.
- Knead well.
- Form into walnut sized koftas and deep fry till light brown.
- Remove and keep aside.
- To make gravy, heat up oil in a pot and brown onions.
- Mix in ginger and fry well.
- Mix in tomatoes turmeric, red chilli and garam masala and fry on low fire till oil separates.
- Mix in water according to consistency of gravy required.
- Boil for 5 minutes.
- Mix in koftas and boil for a further two minutes.
- erve hot with breads.
