Custard Apple Ice Cream

Learn how to make custard apple ice cream. Sitaphal icecream is made with custard apples, custard powder, cashewnuts and vanilla essence.


1 litre milk
5 custard apples
1/2 cup cream
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp custard powder
1/2 cup chopped cashewnuts
1 tsp vanilla essence


How to make Custard Apple Ice Cream:
  • Add sugar to milk and simmer on low heat till milk condenses to nearly half the quantity.
  • Make a smooth paste of custard powder with few teaspoons of milk and pour it in the condensed milk mixture.
  • On low heat stir the mixture till it thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • Make a pulp of custard apples and add it to the milk mixture.
  • Whip cream and mix into beaten mixture.
  • Freeze it in the refrigerator and serve with cream and nuts.
