Mango Rice Recipe

Mango rice is made is by frying cooked rice with fried onion, chana dal, curry leaves and mango. Learn how to make Mango rice and enjoy its ravishing taste.



Ingredients:

2 cups rice
2 raw mangoes ( medium size, washed and grated)
1 finely chopped onion (optional)
1 tsp urad dhal/channa dhal
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp jeera
8-10 curry leaves
1/2 bunch corriander leaves
1 tsp turmeric powder
salt and oil as required

How to make Mango Rice:
  • Cook the Rice and allow it to cool.
  • In the pan, add oil, add mustard seeds, once it splutters add channa dal, urad dal, fry it , then add jeera, curry leaves, and turmeric powder.
  • Add onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the grated Mangoes and salt, and cook it until done.
  • Remove from the pan and mix with the rice properly.
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with hot chutney of your choice.
