Mattar Masala Recipe

Mattar masala is made with onion, tomatoes and boiled peas which is cooked with beasan. Learn how to make delicious mattar masala.



Ingredients:

1 cup peas
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 medium size chopped onion
1 chopped tomato
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp besan (gram flour)
salt to taste
a bunch of coriander
5 tsp vegetable oil

How to make Mattar Masala:
  • Boil the peas and set aside.
  • In a non stick skillet heat little oil add fennel seeds then add chopped onion and chopped tomatoes.
  • Stir and cook until onions are soft.
  • Add chilly powder, salt and garam masala powder followed by cooked peas.
  • Stir and cook for a minute.
  • Add besan flour with very little water and mix well.
  • Boil for a minute till it reaches a gravy form.
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander.
