Medu Vada Recipe

Here's a delicious urad dal vada recipe that can be enjoyed with chutney and sambhar. Learn how to make medu vada.



Ingredients:

2 cup split black gram lentil (dhuli urad dal)
1/2 cup split Bengal gram (chane ki dal)
1/2 cup rice (chawal)
1 tsp salt (namak)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
] 2 green chilly (hari mirch)
1 piece ginger (adrak)
oil for cooking

How to make Medu Vada:
  • Soak rice and dal for 2 hours.
  • Then grind them with hari mirch and adrak in a mixer by adding very less water so that the consistency is very thick.
  • Now add hing and salt to this batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Wet your left hand fingers and spread the mixture on them.
  • Now spread the mixture on your fingers with your right hands and pierce a hole in the centre with your thumb.
  • Now put it in pan and fry at high flame for 1 minute and then at low flame.
  • Turn it on both the sides until they turn brown.
  • Serve medu vada hot with sambhar and chutney.
