Prawn Masala Vada

Prawn masala vada is made by grinding split red gram and then adding spices and prawn (jhinga) and then deep frying.


115 gm Split red gram
30 gms onion
2 green chillies
2 red chillies
Salt to taste
10 (boiled & seasoned) Prawns


How to make Prawn Masala Vada:
  • Soak gram for two hours and grind it coarsely.
  • Mix finely chopped onions, green chillies, coarsely ground red chillies and salt.
  • Shape the mixture into small flat rounds about 1/3 inch thick.
  • Place one prawn on each vada and deep fry till crisp and cooked.
