Prawn Pulao

An appetizing and delectable pulav which is made from prawns, rice, whole spices and tomatoes. Learn how to make prawn pulao.

Ingredients:

200 gms rice
100 gms ghee or butter
3.5 gm ginger
150 gms tomato
960 ml hot water
450 gms prawn
10 gms garam masala
5 gms chilli powder
2 gms green cardamom
4 gms cloves
1 gm peppercorns
2 gms cinnamon
Salt to taste

 

How to make Prawn Pulao:
  • Heat ghee in a vessel. Add tomatoes, garam masala, chilli, ginger and salt and cook for five minutes, stirring all the time.
  • Add prawns and cook over a low fire in a covered pan till the prawns are ready.
  • In another vessel, boil 3 pints of water and add the rice with cardamoms, cloves, peppercorns and cinnamon tied in muslin and boil uncovered till the rice is cooked. Drain in a colander.
  • In a fire-proof dish, put a layer of rice, then a layer of curry and then another layer of rice.
  • Cover and put in a slow oven for 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot with curry.
