Spicy Mutton Stew

1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
3 medium onions
1 large piece of ginger
1/2 pod garlic
6 green chillies
2 tsp turmeric
4 tsp cummin seeds
3 tsp chilli powder
2-3 stalks curry leaves
1 tsp salt
1 tsp mustard
8 ozs vinegar
4 tsp ghee or oil


How to make Spicy Mutton Stew:
  • Wash and cut meat into small pieces.
  • Cut 2 onions, half of the ginger, garlic and 4 chillies finely.
  • Take the remaining ginger, garlic, chillies and onion and grind them with cumin seeds, chillie powder, turmeric, salt, mustard and vinegar.
  • Mix the meat with ground masala, crupled curry leaves and vinegar in a bowl.
  • keep it aside for 2 hours.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry onion.
  • when it is light brown add marinated meat and cook on slow fire.
  • Add a little water if necessary and cook till it becomes tender.
  • cook it till it is done and no water is left.
