Tomato Chutney Recipe

Here's a delicious, spicy south Indian tomato chutney recipe. It is a great accompaniment for idli and dosa. Learn how to make tomato chutney south Indian style.



Ingredients:

4 tomato (tamatar)
2 fresh whole red chilly (sabut lal mirch)
1/2 tsp salt (namak)
1 lemon (nimbu)
1 tsp sambhar masala
1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)
1 tsp oil

How to make Tomato Chutney:
  • Cut tamatar and lal mirch into pieces.
  • Grind tamatar, mirch and namak in a mixer to make a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and crackle rai in it.
  • Then add the above paste and sambhar masala.
  • Cook for a minute stirring continuously.
  • Mix lemon juice and serve tomato chutney with dosa or idli.
